Academic competitions are an important part of the TAMS experience, and in order to get the most out of these competitions, TAS's Competitions Committee helps students learn beyond the classroom by hosting review sessions, compiling resources, and helping students get to know various competition formats. Our committee heads are dedicated to helping each and every student excel and win awards at competitions about any subject. This year, the Committee heads plan on helping students prepare for the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO), USA Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO), history competitions, and literature competitions.

Daniel Fu

 Competitions Committee Head

Hi there! My name is Daniel, and I’ll be one of your TAS competitions committee heads for this year. I’m from Coppell, and I am on the Traditional Science track here at TAMS. In addition to this position, I’m also MAO treasurer, TAMS badminton captain, and a member of TAMSformers (FRC Team 5212). Some of my hobbies include learning new pieces on the piano, reading, and playing competitive badminton. Feel free to reach out for anything and everything!

ANDREW CAI

 Competitions Committee Head

Hello, my sweet juniors. My name is Andrew Cai and I am one of your Competitions Committee Heads for this year! I am on the trad sci path track and went to Coppell High School. This year I'll also be an exec for JETS and Chess Club as well. My favorite bathroom to visit on campus is the Willis Library 4th floor private restroom; I recommend checking it out. You can catch me in Willis basement or sleeping in someone's bed. I have done USNCO for the last few years and am very much available for individual help and mentoring if you are interested. Typically, many of the top-ranking students (campers) come from the same schools largely due to mentoring and collaboration, so I would highly recommend contacting me if you are serious about your preparation; I have plenty of advice and resources. If you have any other questions pertaining to a competition you are interested in or you just want to talk, please feel free to reach out!
